My insurance is asking the other insurance to pay 1284.91 Euros to repair my car. If the other insurance agrees, it will issue a check to my name. It means that I can just cash in the money and not repair anything. The damage is hardly visible besides the rear mirror. I am very tempted to just keep the cash and only repair the rear mirror. My car is 7 years old and it already has 125 000 km on it so why waste the money? In two years, with or without the damage, its price will decline automatically anyway.
Tough choice! Wisdom would prevail I guess.

I ordered a sandwich at Subway for 3.5 Euros. I paid 20 Euros and the dude gave me 26.5 Euros back instead of 16.5 Euros. I kept the extra 10 Euros and I left. Me very bad!

My car is worth a little bit more than I expected: 5 651 euros!

My uncle checked my car and he said that the insurance will not reimburse 1500 Euros (estimation of the repair). Everyone had their little comment, so I wanted to check.
Here is the law regarding the insurance: LINK
If the car is still working but the repair is not “economically viable”: meaning the repair cost is at least 80% of the value of the car:
1. The insurance will make a proposition and give you the amount of money corresponding to the value of your car + 10% or 20% etc … You can argue, have your own expert and try to increase the amount of money in the transaction. In the end, if everyone agrees, you take the money and give your car to the insurance.
2. If you do not agree, you can take the money proposed by the insurance (80% of its market value) and repair your car yourself. After repair, you need a technical check of your car to be able to drive in it again.
In my case, the value of my car is 4700 Euros (I checked it online) and the repair cost is only 1500 Euros. So if the insurance accepts to repair my car, there is no real problem. I would be more than happy if the insurance gives me 4700 Euros in cash to buy another car :).

I am new to selfies. They are very nice because they are snapshots of quick events that I could not catch with my semi-professional camera. These quick snapshots of time are precious to me!
