Last paycheck!

My last paycheck will come this Wednesday. It will conclude my Australian adventure once and for all. No regrets! I left with pretty pictures and a good amount of cash in my bank account. Enough to manage a long and hard transition! The hardest I have ever done in my life. Funny thing is that stupid business visa that was not granted when I was there and now I have to finish it here in Ireland! I was indeed on a temporary A-type bridging visa the last 6 months. I won’t be allowed to go back to Australia to get the formal visa stamp since I left the country before I applied for a B-type visa that would allow me to travel. But in regards to Australian law, I have done everything perfectly and they cannot do anything against me in the future.

I bought two really nice pants, and, of course they were too long. There is a place that can alter their lenght for a decent price (hem=15 Euros) just in the shopping center! I was very happy to hear about it from my flatmate. It has been so hard to buy nice pants all these years and I had to worry each time about the alteration afterwards. I will probably buy more pants in the future!

I can have a pony tail now :)!

Long day!

1. Australian visa:

I went to the doctor and took an X-ray to finalize the Australian visa.  Waste of my time! Cost: 155 Euros

2. Bank transfer to the owner

Another stupid story! Hopefully it will be the end of it today. All this because of the address mistake. I do not want to think about this anymore!

Such is life!

A glass of Gin!

in my hand and listening to these songs:

"Sing" from Travis

"Stop and Stare" From OneRepublic

This is indeed my situation right now. It is rather uncomfortable since I do not know what I will be doing in the next months. So many crazy ideas, fears and hopes come each day. After the interview I was much more relaxed. I guess this is part of the learning process. You go out, fight, recover and you keep on doing it until you find what you want. Nothing new and everyone has to do it. Some of us handle it it better than others. I am having dreams about the most important events in my life: The day I left my parents place with Lolita, The landing at Chicago Airport, The scary jump… I guess it is the result of the current stress level.

My finis underwater mp3player is giving its last breath. I ordered a new one on ebay. It took me forever to figure out the glitch on the ebay site. It would not let me enter my new phone number and it kept on rejecting anything that is not a normal Dublin local phone ( 1 + 7 numbers).
Finally I made a quick estimation about my living standard and the money. So far nothing has changed since the cash still flows in from my previous job in Australia which does make things so much easier.
I could probably live like this for the next 3 years without much problem. Maybe even 4 if I am being careful. Of course I do not want to waste all that cash and I rather invest it into buying an apartment. We shall see!

French Visa Card!

Finally it is here. Now I am a normal European customer! I gotta go shopping today! I am tired of living on a restricted budget the last 3 weeks or so.

Spending time!

Recovering!

I am sure I had at least 4 more white hair due to the last two days of stress. I am recovering today and I could not wake up to go to the swimming pool. Rallez woke me up my two times yesterday from 7-9 pm because of the new fridge the owner is buying for us. Since I stay home most of the time, they gave me instructions. After that I stayed up until 11 pm and enjoyed the new digital channels. So many movies to watch during the evening now. I need to find a way to get the channels in my room!

It’ s funny how all little annoying events converged when I am stressed:

1. I ran out of cash yesterday

2. I forgot my bus tickets

3. I was lost

4. The stupid visa card has not arrived yet

5. I had to buy a new pair of professional shoes with my last 20 Euro bill! because the store did not have a visa card reader that can read Australian visa card type

This is why it is always recommended to avoid me when I am stressed!

I was so stressed out I barely slept. I woke up at 2 am after 4 hours of sleep and I could never resume it. I think I even disturbed Claire because her room is next to mine and the bed is noisy as well as the floor. So now I am completely exhausted.

The interview went very well but the position was not for me. The recruiter was still convinced I should give it a try but I kindly declined. I would have been booted out after the technical review. I spared myself a painful session. It is funny when I talk to people I usually can convince them 🙂

I got another call for an organic chemist position. Who knows?…YES I can do chemistry :! In fact I would like to have a good start and not lying or trying to fit in anything I do not like or cannot do well. I want to optimize my strength an my weaknesses. No more lies, they lead me nowhere!

On a final positive note, we have 100 digital channels today…! Weeeeeeeeeeee!

First Interview!

Tomorrow at 2 pm with a financial recruiting company! FIRST TIME, Finally! I am so nervous! My hair is so long BUT I will not cut them. I do not have a suit though. O well! I need to calm down!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I really never enjoyed vacation after I left school. The last long weekend was again painfully boring. No swimming for 4 days and nothing really interesting to do. I went to an evening BBQ on Saturday, which turned out okay and on Sunday I spent the afternoon at the bookstore with Rallez. Claire was away most of the weekend with her boyfriend.
The little problems with the french bank and banks in general won’t stop until I get my visa card. Such an annoying thing! Life goes on!

I watched "August rush": IMdB: 7.5/10. It was very good. I could have seen it on the plane but I didn’t get into it.

A cool program I would recommend to extract EXIF files from pictures: exif reader Yo get all the technical info about a jpeg image using this program. No more secrets! Of course it only works on fancy SLR cameras that stores these EXIF info. Then you can be profesional and write down on your pictures like most newbies "wannabe pro" do:

Model : NIKON D200
ExposureTime : 1/40Sec
FNumber : F5.6
ISOSpeedRatings : 100
ExifVersion : 0221
ExposureBiasValue : EV0.0
MaxApertureValue : F5.7
MeteringMode : Spot
Flash : Not fired
FocalLength : 200.00(mm)

No excuses anymore for not being professional! I tried it on several FLikr photos 🙂 It works GREAT!
