Stupid day!

The ATM machine rebooted after taking my bank card. I had to cancel the card and order a new one: 20 Euros lost and it wasn’t my fault. Annoying! My flatmate got his car scratched by some kids again. It will cost him about 200 euros to paint the door again. Sometimes life is really stupid!
My UQ email account was finally disabled. Good thing is I do not have to delete 10 spams a day again. Eno’s HD died, it was in fact one of my spare HD I sent to him after I left Australia, I bought him a new one for $61 and I noticed that the US dollars was so weak it only cost me 63 AUD. If I had a job in the US I would have plenty of cash!
Time is getting long now, after two months and half of job searching, I am reaching a point where I do not care anymore: Resignation time after stress time! Indeed I cannot do much but wait and see.

I think I improved each of my swimming lap by 2 secondes. Meaning I am doing now the 6 kms in 1 hour and 40 min (50 sec per lap). Below the 50 sec per lap I am officially a fast swimmer. I felt very tired this morning after achieving this fast personal record. I passed practically everyone that was there in the pool.
Our internet connection went from 6Mb to 12 Mb now for free and we have 120 Gb per month! I am running out of good movies to download. I watched the Rolland Garros final and I was very disappointed. Federer was simply smashed by Nadal. My flatmate and I, we are watching the Euro 2008. I remember last time I went back to France it was the Euro 2004. It is funny how events keep on repeating themselves.
I read “Do Androids dream of electric sheep?” by Philip K. Dick, and I realized that it was the book from which “Blade Runner” was adapted. The story is completely different. Only the character’s names remain the same. I liked both I should admit. I finished the short book in one day.
I applied for more jobs but I was lazy recently. I kind of took a break after the school applications. Now I am just waiting for some responses. Mondays are boring, usually I get answers or calls on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Monday and Friday are dead.

Anger and Hope!

At 7:30pm yesterday, the internet went down again. I was so angry at the internet company. They finally came and fixed it after these painful days and it stopped working after 6 hours. I wanted to kill someone. I called the help desk and I was about to unleash my anger but the girl at the help desk was very nice and helpful. She apologized and did her best to understand. That surprised me and I just calmed down and I was very polite surprisingly. Things went smoothly and it seemed that we were experiencing an UPSTREAM overload, it simply means the lane cannot cope with the excess of traffic. The internet came back later sporadicly but today it was back to its old state. I could download 3 movies, etc… Looks like they fixed something today. I am just happy I am connected.
I also got two emails regarding potential job position. I took a break from answering ads the last 2 weeks because of schools applications I guess when I do not care anymore things are going well again. We shall see. That was the hope part!
I am in a very good mood! I guess all I need was the internet.

Major pain!

Accidents and catastrophes always managed to occur at a very bad time and the last major drama did occur on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend since Monday was a holiday here in Ireland. NO Internet on FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY and TUESDAY. I was going to get a depression! Someone managed to unplug us. We called and bitched at them as much as we could and it was useless. I managed to call them this morning at 11 am and told them that the tech guy assured me that someone will come and fix the connection. On my words, they went to check and sent out a guy to do the simplest task ever: PLUG the cables back! I was on tears when I saw what he did down there!
O JOY! O INTERNET! I cannot live without internet!
Nothing happened the last 5 days. I bought nice sweat-shirts and pants to recover my “garde-robe”. Now I have one thing to wear for each day of the week. There were 507 AUD that were sent to my ANZ account. I need to check where it came from sometimes today. Most likely, it was from UQ, they owed me 2 working days that were not included in my last paycheck. I thought I will not get them so I am glad if it was the case!

No internet!

Until Tuesday afternoon, no internet at home! I suspect the upgrade to the higher speed to be the reason. The cable modem being too old, it was incompatible with the upgrade. Also there were work done with NTL near where we live. Some stupid guys might have unplugged us by accident.

Ninja Look!

My hair kept on poking my eyes that get all red. I bought a headband to fix all this hair! So now i look like these small jap’s kids in the Manga comic books! I wished my head wasn’t that big because it is kind of tight. I will probably get used to it in few days. It makes it so much better to do things now without having to put my hair back every time.

Rain all day!

Very very bad weather today! I m going to be mean but I am glad it is as bad. Indeed, my flatmate’s guest is finally leaving and he left early. His flight’s at 6 pm but he left at 11 am. I hope he will “enjoy” the rain and the wind all day long :). I am really mean. After he left , I tried to get rid of the bad smell of his deodorant that got stuck to all places he touched. Very bad and cheap deodorant that even gave a headache to my flatmate. A total lack of taste! Some people tend to pour the whole bottle. So the man who hawks and who uses bad deodorant is GONE! Weeeeeeeeee! I do not think he likes Ireland. He left deceived!
I have been officially jobless since Monday and it does not really make any difference. I swam today with two very fast swimmers because the pool was very crowded. I was very fast and very tired but I was also very proud of myself. I can hold against the best for quite some times. If they try to pass me they will have to stop after.

People’s tics and dirty habits!

I pick up on these on a stranger extremely quickly and I am used to focus on them intensively. One of the dirtiest and most horrible habit with people who smoke is their frequent hawking habits (expectorate noisily and spit after). I really cannot stand this! My flatmate is having a guest and he kept on hawking everytime he is home. That bothers me so much! People who cough annoy me also because of strong smoking habits.
Have you ever looked at a person’s face? They tend to move their nose like chimps, I saw two Asian dudes on the bus the other day and one of them really makes regular chimp faces. I laughed at these weird things. I have some repulsion nowadays when I am close to Chinese people. I was next to one specimen the last three years and I had enough of my share of dirty things. I had the pleasure to witness everyday the dirtiest things: hand in the pants and playing with the weenie, nose picking, hawking, chimp facial expressions, and finally, worse of all, problem with the nose that compiled him to make a strange noise every few minutes. When I needed all my concentration some days, these strange problems got onto my nerves!
Few popular events you can witness everyday from people: armpits, crotch and ass scratching… One particularly noxious habit occurs when people wash their hands and dry them on the back of their ass and then use the same hand to pick up food on the table. It is also particularly disgusting to see people licking their fingers and use their hands to share food on the table! I usually decline any food after seeing that!
Finally I hate it when people, who have glasses on, look at you from above their frames, it makes them strecth their face in an “old lady” fashion way that is particularly ugly! You can then see their globular eyes!

A Pony Tail!

Damn right! For the very first time in my life I am attaching my hair in the back. My face has completely changed. My flatmate, Claire, said I have beautiful hair. If she only knew how damaged they are because of the chlorine! It is a tiny pony tail for now but as I said, in three years time it will be a long one!
